Come stroll with me & share the wonders of May
We start walking from the house back past the barn, and through the barnyard to visit the girls.
These are young Holstein heifers. (they are too young to have had calves or be milked.)
From there we can look down at the tops of the trees on the hill. The apple blossoms are beautiful
Once we have walked down the hill into the valley, we can see the water wending it's way along the valley floor rushing over the rocks in miniature waterfalls, splashing and gurgling in the sun. It is icy cold and crystal clear . Many small creatures, frogs, salamanders and fish make it their home.
As we gaze across the valley, we see many different shades of green and blossoms dense upon
the apple trees. The tenacity of one who would not give up, but continued to thrive in spite of being felled by a harsh winter. Oh, hear the wonderful songs of birds and breathe deeply the sensational aromas of flowers, water, and the cool wet spring earth. This must be a small corner of heaven.
A glance around will reveal an abundance of variety in color and specie of trees. A treat for the eyes
Can you remember the old song "I'll be with you in apple blossom time"?
I have a sudden urge to sing. The lyrics burst forth as I view the beauty
& drink in the aroma of these lovely blossoms.
We stroll a bit further across the valley floor and see some dainty violets peeking out of the grass
Step lightly. We spot a wood chucks home as we head toward the wooded glen.
It is quiet and peaceful. we pass gnarled old trees along the shaded waters edge.
We follow the stream as it wends it's way out of the glen into the sun once more.
